Science & Spirituality Articles
A renown Spanish philosopher named Jose Ortega y Gasset once said that "To define is to exclude and negate."
Our entire world view is framed and viewed through the lens of definition. We define away everything and by so doing, automatically limit our world view. Thus you and I can never be one because by definition, we are separate.
Once we have defined things, we create a box of finite dimensions which we call reality. Anything that we have defined as can exist within that finite box is what we call reality and is possible. Anything outside of that box is not reality and impossible. When, by some so-called freak occurrence, something actually does manifest outside of our defined box of reality, it is a miracle.
As St. Augustine pointed out, "Miracles exist not in opposition to Nature but in opposition to what we know of Nature." The renown physicist Max Planck expressed the same view when he wrote: "What we observe is not Nature in and of itself but rather Nature exposed to our method of questioning."
If you imagine expanding that limited box called reality so that its dimensions are infinite, you are now in the field of infinite possibilities and anything can happen. Once you are in the field of infinite possibilities, because anything can happen, then they can no longer be any miracles. Anything can happen.
Science and spirituality then are really one. In fact, all bodies of knowledge are non exclusive and overlap. It is only the limited mind and programming which says otherwise. In this spirit, articles here are neither exclusively in the domain of science or spirituality but seeks to blend both in an integral view.
